Andrea Foti nasce a Reggio Calabria nel 1981, studia architettura presso l’UNIRC (Università Mediterranea degli studi di Reggio Calabria) laureandosi col massimo dei voti nel marzo del 2009 con la tesi dal titolo Generating Flows of Shapes. Nipote del noto designer milanese Joe Colombo (1930/1971), esponente del movimento della Pittura Nucleare fondato nel 1951 da Enrico Baj , Sergio Dangelo e Giacomo Balla ; affianca alla personale ricerca architettonica, quella pittorica astratta e dell’arte digitale, codificando  la “tools-paint” ovvero “pittura con gli strumenti”. La tecnica pittorica  sfrutta strumenti e attrezzi differenti per “creare”, spingendosi oltre l’uso canonico di pennelli e rulli finno ad arrivare all’ausilio del software e del computer. Vanta molteplici esperienze nel campo dell’arte e del design, avendo partecipato  alla prima e seconda edizione del premio d’arte contemporanea indetto da Terna, al premio Celebrate Originality (adidas), al concorso Artlight 2009 (Targetti Sankey spa),  Europa Food Design 2009 ( Disegno Srl), Inox Design Awards 2009 (Lamberti De Rosa) ed altri ancora. Dopo una breve esperienza con l’architetto Giuseppina Foti docente presso l’UNIRC e con l’architetto Dario Iacono, intraprende successivamente la strada del libero professionista artista-designer, impegnandosi nel campo della ricerca sull’arte e l’architettura e fondando nel 2010 il gruppo di ricerca e sperimentazione A+DA, dando vita al blog A+DA experience.
